Product Limited Warranty

This Limited Warranty applies to all hardware found on the steering wheel purchased from our Company, “CAWORKS” (Forged Line). Warranty lasts for 90 days from the date of delivery.

Hardware includes the steering wheel, trim pieces, paddle shifters, upholstery, stitching, button controls, led shift light casing, led shift lights module, OBD2 for led shift lights and steering wheel core.

What does the warranty cover?

This Limited Warranty covers our products with any defects in workmanship, material, hardware, heating function, vibration module, led shift lights functions under normal use during the warranty period.

During the Limited Warranty period, “CAWORKS” (Forged Line) will provide replacement parts or offer repairs of the affected area that proves defective or dysfunctional due to our improper workmanship or production defect.

Product Lifetime Warranty

This product lifetime warranty covers our programmed retrofitting modules and decoders.

Programmed motherboard, chips, modules have a lifetime warranty. The programmed motherboard, chips, modules serve the purpose of preventing check lights and/or enabling newer generation steering wheel upgrades to function on older vehicle models. Such as enabling infotainment buttons to work or cancelling out check lights for vehicles that are equipped with semi-autonomous driving or driving assist features. (Subjected to vehicle model and year of production)

If the programmed motherboard, chips, modules fail, contributing to malfunction of steering wheel controls or check light, they will be replaced for free.

Customers will be required to provide us with video clips and pictures that displays the error occurred clearly. This is to ensure our technician rule out any other possibilities that may have resulted in the error. Such as infotainment buttons, horn not functioning or occurrences of check lights.

No replacements will be awarded to any customers, if the customer refuses to send us video clips and pictures that displays the error occurring clearly.

Customer will not be required to return us the malfunctioned motherboard, chips or modules. A new set will be delivered to the customer’s shipping address at no expense of the customer.

Customer is required to attach the original purchase invoice when submitting an error report to us.

What does our warranty not cover?

1.1 Damage resulted from negligence

This includes damaged parts not contributed by our production or workmanship defect. For example, damaging the product while installation.

1.2 Fair wear and tear

This includes fair wear and tear from product usage. Fair wear and tear include leather upholstery cracking, discolouring, becoming distressed, Alcantara upholstery drying up, colour fading, damaged fibres, carbon fibre surface swirl marks, scratch marks, oxidation and fading. 

We highly recommend all customers to perform simple product maintenance and care to retain our products in pristine condition. With proper product maintenance and care, our product can last for extensive periods of time.

1.3 Carbon fiber

Dings, dents, chips, cracks or scratches should not be present on the surface of the carbon fiber. If you have received the product and it is found damaged, please contact us immediately and take pictures of the damaged parts of the product. You will be required to attach the pictures when submitting an error report via our website along with the original purchase invoice.

If the product is damaged from shipping handling, a claim will be made with the courier company. In this case, we will arrange another scheduled pick up of the product from your shipping address and send it back to our facility for repairs or replacement.

If the customer refuses the replacement or repair offer from us and instead would like a refund, 50% restocking fee applies if the product is made to customer’s request. A full refund will only be presented if the product purchased by the customer is a ready stock, off the shelve piece.

All our products go through a 10-stage quality check before we arrange for packing and dispatch.

All damages must be reported within 14 days when the customer receives the product. No returns, repairs or replacements will be provided after the damage report time frame window is closed.

1.4 Upholstery

Scratches or peeling of the upholstery should not be present on all upholstery. If you have received your product and the upholstery is found damaged, please contact us immediately and take pictures of the damaged part of the upholstery. You will be required to attach the pictures when submitting an error report. If the product is damaged from shipping handling, a claim will be made with the courier company. In this case, we will arrange another scheduled pick up of the product form your shipping address and send it back to our facility for repairs or replacement.

1.5 Custom extended design paddle shifters

Dings, dents, chips, cracks or scratches should not be present on the paddle shifters. The position of the (-) downshift and (+) upshift symbols on the paddle shifters may be slightly slanted to fit the curvature of the original design of the extended paddle shifters. The slanting of the (-) downshift and (+) upshift symbols on the paddle shifters are not considered as defective.

It is not advised for the user to shift gears from the paddle shifters specifically, from the upper section to the tip of the paddle shifters as the design is not intended for the user to shift from these positions. Shifting from the non-recommended positions may cause excessive pressure to the base casing of the paddle shifters. As a result, it may break.

We recommend all users to shift from the paddle shifters specifically from the centre/middle position from the back of the paddle shifters.

Slight “free-play” movement is normal should the user attempt to physically move the paddle shifters from left to right or up and downwards by force.

Excessive “free-play” movement is not normal. Please take pictures and videos of the affected area and attached the files along with the original purchase invoice when you submit an error report via this link. A replacement will be provided to you at no expense on your end.

1.5 LED Shift Lights, motherboard and wiring

Slight swirl marks on the led shift lights casing are normal due to the plastic manufacturing process. Screws that secure the led shift light casing should not be found rusty. Cracks, scratches and foggy led shift light casing should not be present. All led light module should light up individually. The 12volt and ground cable should not be found exposed. Only the ends of the wire may be spliced as they are the connecting points for the installation. If the ends of the wire are not spliced, you are required to splice the wires for installation.

If the led shift lights do not work or any damages are found, please take pictures and video clips that clearly displays the problem occurred.

You can submit an error report via our website form with the pictures and video clips of the affected area(s) along with the original purchase invoice attached.

1.6 Motherboard chip and wiring for paddle shifters

The motherboard chip and wiring for paddle shifters may not be included in the package unless a complete set retrofit steering wheel is purchased. If included for non-retrofit steering wheels, it is offered to customers as goodwill. In the even the motherboard chip and/or wiring given to you not work, you are required to transfer your own motherboard chip and wiring to the paddle shifters.

No replacement for the complimentary motherboard chip and wiring for paddle shifters will be offered if found faulty since it is given to you as goodwill.

By default, you are required to use your own motherboard chip and wiring for paddle shifters unless you are purchasing a complete set steering wheel from us for retrofitting upgrade.

If you have purchased a complete set steering wheel from our website and the motherboard chip and wiring for paddle shifters are not working, a replacement set will be shipped to you at no expense on your end.

1.7 Infotainment buttons backlighting

Infotainment buttons backlighting may come in either orange or white backlighting for the 2019 generation custom amg retrofit steering wheel kit.

In the event the infotainment backlight does not light up, you are required to take a video clip of the affected area and submit to us via the error report link on our website. Please attach the original purchase invoice as well.

A replacement part will be sent to you to rectify the error at no expense on your end.

1.8 Infotainment button controls

Infotainment buttons will be provided when you purchase a complete set steering wheel such as the retrofit steering wheel upgrade set.

If the infotainment buttons do not function or have any damages, we will send you a replacement set to rectify the problem.

You will be required to submit an error report about the issue faced and include the picture(s) and/or video(s) of the affected problem together with your original purchase invoice attached.

1.9 12 o’clock marker

If the 12 o’clock marker is not centered, please take a picture and/or video that clearly shows the affected area.

You will be required to submit the picture(s) and/or video(s) taken via the error report link. Please attached the original purchase invoice as well.

The customer will be required to return the product to us at no expense for the purpose of correcting the error. If the customer refuses the replacement or repair offer from us and instead would like a refund, 50% restocking fee applies if the product is made to customer’s request. A full refund will only be presented if the product purchase by the customer is a ready-stock, off the shelve piece.

2.0 Heating function on upholstery

Please note that the heating function only applies if your vehicle is originally equipped with the feature. By default, heating function is disabled when we reconstruct a steering wheel. Customers have the flexibility to retain or abandon the feature.

The customer is required to consult a certified mechanic with electrical engineering background to perform the installation of the heating function. Cutting, connecting, splicing and soldering of wires will be required.

In the event the heating feature do not work, you will be required to take video clip(s) and pictures of the installation process of the heating wires. Please use an infra-red thermometer to prove that the heating feature is not working. This is required as we will study the video clip(s) and picture(s) to ensure all the wires are connected properly and protect us from any false reports. Please submit the video clip(s) and picture(s) via the error report link on our website along with the original purchase invoice.

If the heating malfunction was caused by an error in production, we will arrange the courier to pick up the package from you at no expense on your end. Repairs will be carried out to rectify the issue.

It is normal for the heating function to be higher in temperature than the factory heat due to multiple reasons. Such as thickness of the new upholstery we use and the age of your old factory heating elements.

2.1 Installation and fitment

CAWORKS (Forged Line) do not offer installation, retrofitting or coding services for customers situated outside of Singapore. All customers are advised to have their product professionally installed by a certified mechanic. In some cases, a mechanic with electrical engineering or specialized coding background will be required to perform the installation.

CAWORKS(Forged Line) will not be held responsible if the customer’s programmer/coder is not able to activate certain features of the steering wheel such as the activation of paddle shifting function or activate the full features of the U88 Drive Unit Select Toggle Switches. These features cannot be programmed remotely by us and it is the customer’s responsibility to do their own research.

CAWORKS (Forged Line) build all order(s) based on what the customer have selected via the website. Which includes materials, shapes, colors, modification of steering wheel core and programming of the programmed module (if applicable).

If the customer has selected a wrong vehicle model or checked the wrong boxes on sections which serves as a guide for us to understand the customer’s vehicle specification(s), no refunds will be provided for non-fitment or non-compatibility due to the latter.

If CAWORKS (Forged Line) have made a custom order that does not fit or function on the customer’s vehicle due to our mistake, we will replace or refund the product at no expense of the customer. The customer is qualified for a full refund.
