Airbag

The airbag module is included in this custom design classic BMW Retrofit M Sport Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel. Please select the correct type of airbag (i.e/ single, dual or triple stage) as you have currently on your Non-M Sport steering wheel from the configurator selection column. If you are unsure of the type of airbag you have, kindly contact us via email at support@caworks.store.

Infotainment button and controls

Infotainment buttons with wiring harness are included. Please ensure that you have correctly selected the type of button layout from the configurator selection column based on what you have on your current non m sport steering wheel.

Cruise control

Cruise control with or without speed limiter feature is not affected.

Active driving assistant plus/pro package with traffic jam assistant

Hands detection on the steering wheel feature will be disabled. The semi-autonomous driving feature can still operate. However, the system will no longer be able to prompt you to take over driving when required. This is due to the removal of factory touch sensors underneath the leather when we rebuild the steering wheel. Please make sure you do not use the driving assistant feature without supervision as it is not intended to be fully autonomous. A decoder module will be included in the package when your selected type of buttons/layout tells us that you possess the above-mentioned features. The decoder module must be installed to prevent any check lights. The installation of the module is simple, and a guide is included on the website. Lane departure assist

If your vehicle is equipped with lane departure assist that sends a vibration alert through your steering wheel, please ensure that you inform us via the configurator selection column. You can transfer your own vibration module to the custom design steering wheel.

Heated steering wheel

If your factory steering wheel originally comes with a heating feature, this feature will be disabled when you install a custom rebuilt steering wheel. You can choose to retain or abandon the feature. Please select from the configurator selection column whether you want to retain or abandon the feature. Simple wiring connections will be required to install the heating feature. Please note that heating function will only be available on the side grips where the leather is at. Carbon fiber parts will not have heating.

Paddle shifters

If your vehicle does not originally come with paddle shifters, the paddle shifters will not work after you have fitted this custom design BMW M Sport Retrofit Steering Wheel. Coding will be required to activate the paddle shifting feature. Please consult your local specialist shop to activate this feature as we are not able to activate remotely.

LED Shift Lights with vehicle information display

LED Shift Lights display will be pre-installed for you. No coding or programming will be required for the LED Shift Lights to work. Installation process will be plug and play. You will be required to connect the 12-volt and ground wire that is included and pre-installed. The 12-volt wire must be connected to a power source of a minimum rating of 12-volts. This power source can be tapped from your wiring harness from your clock-spring. Testing with a voltmeter is recommended. Please secure the ground and 12-volt wire securely to prevent disconnection. A wireless OBD2 blue-tooth connector will be provided in the package. After the 12-volt and ground wires are installed, connect the OBD2 connector into your OBD2 port. Start your vehicle, press, and hold the 2 buttons on the display panel simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds until the display starts up.
